About · YiG

Excel computes.
You decide.

YiG builds Yigcore, a local analysis workbench for recurring spreadsheet work. Your workbooks, the map of how they relate, the workflow and its history stay together in a .yig file. An agent host such as Claude or Codex can run the workflow; it stops where a person has to decide, you review the result in Excel, and Excel computes every figure.

Why this exists

Most tools for recurring spreadsheet work assume your team will change how they work to fit the tool. We take the opposite position: the work stays in the workbooks you already use, and AI produces proposals, not decisions.

The person keeps the decision. What you already confirmed carries into the next period, so the update is not a rebuild, and attention goes to what changed. This is the boring version of AI in spreadsheet work — not a co-pilot that takes over, not a black-box calculator: Excel computes, and every decision is recorded in the file.

How YG works

  • Your own agent host. Yigcore exposes a local MCP server; the agent you already run proposes and runs the workflow, Excel computes, and you decide, reviewing in Excel.
  • A local file. A .yig document opens with no agent and no network; reports, grid and history read directly from the file.
  • Excel. You review in Excel on your own computer, and Excel computes every figure.

See how a month runs on the Yigcore page, including what runs today and what is still being validated.

What you won't see us do

  • No telemetry. Yigcore has no analytics or telemetry. Your project stays on your computer unless you send it. Details on the security page.
  • No fabricated customer outcomes. Until a design partner signs off on disclosure, this site publishes no customer results. No invented metrics.

The team

YiG is built by Jerome Gao and contributors. Jerome has spent years in finance data infrastructure and saw the same pattern repeatedly: powerful tools that required everyone to change their workflow, versus simple scripts that actually got used. YiG is the disciplined version of the second option — agent-grade reasoning delivered without a UX tax.

Yigcore is in a founder-led design-partner pilot. Apply for the pilot and we reply within two working days.
